Employment invests 30,000 euros for the creation of new companies in Benidorm

06 February 2017
Empleo invierte 30.000 euros para la creación de nuevas empresas en Benidorm

In 2016 55 projects benefited from this line of grant

Benidorm City Council, through the Agency for Employment and Local Development (AEDL) under the department of Employment, launches the third edition of its program of grant for the implementation of new businesses in the municipality, endowed with 30,000 euros.

This initiative consists of subsidizing up to 500 euros to those entrepreneurs who are registered in the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers and process a license to open a business in the municipality. Moreover eligible are those who only choose to register as self-employed (without the need for premises), opting for a grant of 350 euros.

In order to participate in the program, entrepreneurs must start their activity as from January 1, 2017, be registered in Benidorm, and have not registered as a self-employed worker in the last six months.

55 projects in 2016

The grant program for the start-up of new companies in 2016 has allowed the start-up of 55 new entrepreneurial projects in the city, which has meant an expenditure of approximately 25,000 euros during the year. María Jesús Pinto, head of the Employment Department, has justified the municipal investment in this program in "the need to support and encourage the implementation of new economic activities that are capable of generating employment." Pinto stressed that this grant is intended to be "the push needed by the project to move from idea to reality", an impulse that "complements" the services of training and counseling to entrepreneurs that the AEDL carries out permanently.
