Benidorm recuerda con un minuto silencio a la última víctima de la violencia de género

Benidorm City Hall has held this morning a minute of silence in memory of the latest victim of gender violence in Spain. With the Councilor for Equality at the head, Paquita Ripoll, representatives of political groups, public workers and neighbors, have demonstrated with this action their strongest rejection of this social scourge.

A 53-year-old woman, of Romanian nationality and resident in the Valencian town of Guadassuar, was allegedly beaten on Thursday by her partner, a 40-year-old man also from Romania. As a result of the blows received, a few hours later she lost her life in Hospital de la Ribera, becoming the 46th victim of gender violence in Spain in 2017.

The head of the area of Equality of Benidorm City Hall has lamented the event and has encouraged all women who suffer because of machismo to lose fear of the phone number against gender violence, 016, which leaves no trace in the telephone bill. Paquita Ripoll has reiterated that the legal and technical services of her department are available to all women who need it.
