The Low Festival has already ten editions and Iberia Festival six

Benidorm consolidates the deseasonalization of events and further diversifies the audience

18 January 2018
Benidorm consolida la desestacionalización de la temporada de eventos y diversifica aún más los públicos

Benidorm Sound changes the layout and proposes eight concerts during a month in Parque de l'Aigüera

The offer of events will begin at Easter and will also bet on musicals.

The events and musical festivals are not just a summer thing. In 2018 Benidorm consolidates the seasonality of its season of events, which for the second consecutive year will start at Easter and will last at least until November. But in addition, the programming that is shaping up for the coming months confirms another trend: "the diversification of the audience".

This has been moved by the mayor, Toni Pérez, during the presentation of the next season of events that took place during the second day of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (Fitur). In this advance of the program of events, the mayor has been accompanied by the councilor of the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, and by representatives of four of the musical brands that are inevitably already associated with the city: Low Festival, Iberia Festival, Benidorm Sound and Fuzzville.

The season of events will begin on March 31 with a festival in which we are already working and of which more details will be known in the coming days. Right after, from April 19 to 22, the Fuzzville will arrive, which this year moves to the facilities of the Magic Robin Hood complex. Fuzzville Communications Manager, Sergio Moreno, has indicated that "in this edition it becomes a festival that takes the spirit of the All Tomorrows Parties, which was held in Britain in the past decade and which became one of the more followed by music journalists from all around the world. "

In this 2018 the Low Festival has ten editions and six the Iberia Festival, while Benidorm Sound - which in previous years has led to the arrival in Benidorm of international DJ David Gueta - changes this year's format and proposes eight performances during a month in Julio Iglesias auditorium of L' Aigüera Park.

After reaching a new public record last year with 83,000 attendees in the four days of the festival, the tenth edition of the Low has already begun to roll with force. An edition that the organizers have nicknamed #TheBigLow, which will take place from July 27 to 30, and has already announced a headliner more powerful: Chemical Brothers. The duo of electronics are joined by other names such as Phoenix, Izal - the only concert in festivals in Levante area this summer - or La Bien Querida, and in the coming months and weeks the poster will not stop growing. A poster that will be "more ambitious than ever", according to Moreno.

But before the Low it will be the moment of Benidorm Sound, festival twinned with others that take place in the main cities of the country such as 'Las noches del Botánico' in Madrid or 'Los jardines de V' next to the events in Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife and Valencia. Although for contractual reasons it is still too early to reveal names of groups or artists that will pass through the Julio Iglesias auditorium of the Parque de l'Aigüera between June 20 and July 22, Javier Ferrándiz -one of the festival promoters who arrives in co-production with two of the most important producers: Live Nation and Serious Fun Music- she announced that they will be "very powerful national and international artists who want to perform in slightly smaller venues" so that the concert has a special character.

The mayor and Ferrándiz have also talked about another event that repeats year after year: Iberia Festival, which has not yet closed the exact date of its sixth edition, although it will do so in the coming weeks, also announcing some of the names of the poster. The local promoter has stressed that the last edition of Iberia "was a success and we covered everything that is expected from a national music festival, which attracts a different audience to the one that usually attends this type of event".

Moreover in September, and more specifically on days 8 and 9, Benidorm will live the big days of its Pride, which closes the European Pride calendar. A date with a significant impact on the British market, which also capitalizes in one of the most multitudinous events in the city: the Fancy Dress, which in 2018 will be held on November 15, coinciding with the end of the Major Festivities.

Likewise, in the month of July, Benidorm will once again be the European capital of salsa, bachata and other dances of Latin origin, in a new edition of the Benidorm Salsa Congress that "as a novelty this year will go out to the street", has advanced the mayor.

Pérez stressed that "we are not going to confine ourselves only to concerts or festivals, but we are going to bet again on musicals, a genre that last year excited the public".
